Hi, I am now taking orders for 5 frame Nucs. These will be ready early May onwards (weather dependant). I receive my queens mid/late April then observe the nuc for a couple of weeks to make sure they are in A1 condition. There will be a limited number as I'm concentrating on honey production this year. The nucs are made of Pvc 'correx' type material and can be folded flat when empty and no longer in use (reusable). They will have 5 National brood frames and a Buckfast or Cornelian Queen bee (your choice). The frames will also be covered in bees, have plenty of BOAS (brood of all stages) and stores. Advice can also be given to the novice beekeeper if required as I've over 20 years experience. The Nucs can be collected from Sheffield or I can deliver locally for a small charge. The total price for a nuc is £170. A non-refundable deposit of £20 is required. It is a first come first served arrangement. WARNING BEES ARE AT RISK OF STARVATION I have three boxes of Bee Fondant for sale each box weighs 12.5 kg. Each box contains a single block of fondant and is suitable for winter feeding. The National Bee unit has recently put out a warning regarding the risk of colonies starving due to the mild winter, bees have consumed more stores than usual. Should we have a cold spell bees are at risk of isolation starvation. I have ensured all of my bees are fed and have a few surplus boxes available. My thoughts on feeding is the bees are better off looking at food than for food. The price listed is per box. I am happy to sell separately. I also have a few spare 2.5kg bags at £7 each.
