Antique Postage Stamp machine surround in solid Brass. Rare decorative item for philatelists.

This is the solid brass surround from an old postage stamp machine. Unfortunately the photo makes it look like a letterbox but you have to visualize it in the upright position which is how it would have been fitted. It is beautifully cast in solid brass with the word "Postage" at the top and "Stamps" at the bottom. If any of you are old enough to remember, the stamp machine itself would have taken up the centre of the space and be mounted vertically, usually in a wall or similar. Apart from when they were in use many years ago, I have never seen anything like it. A great collectors/talking point for the keen philatelist! Post and packing extra. TWO sets of rare Antique Scales in Brass Victorian

Selling TWO sets of antique scales here. The first is a beautiful set of brass scales in a wooden and glass case complete with a set of brass weights. This is a very unusual yet very precise weighing instrument. These are known as apothecary scales, more commonly used by chemists from the turn of the 20th Century. The scales are in magnificent condition, as is the oak case that features a lift up front panel to give access to the scales. These would make a super display in a kitchen, bathroom or office environment. Also included is a second set of antique scales. These are a really lovely set of Victorian postal scales with brass weights. It has a card under its wooden base with postal rates for written by hand. This is a genuine unmolested item that would make a lovely display feature in a house. It comes with a period cardboard box for keeping them safe when not on display.
