Beautiful Welsh Blanket Rare Vintage *Offers Welcome *

The blanket is in used condition and has been carefully laundered with Woolite and salt (a recommended method). There is some staining evident and some minor holes. In truth any faults are of course commensurate with the age of such items. Its difficult to assess the true age but indications are that this blanket could be from the s or s and possibly a little older. It came from a lady whose Grandmother sold new Welsh Blankets from a little shop based in the front room of her house in Mumbles, from the s until the s. She bought her stock directly from the mills throughout Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and the Swansea Valley. Narrow loom blankets were woven on a narrow hand loom in two pieces and then usually sewn together to make a larger bedcover.
