Welcome to Passion d'Orient:Hereke, Turkey, a small town located beside the Sea of Marmara, +/- 70 km south-east of Istanbul. A Sultan factory was founded in Hereke in to weave very fine luxury silk carpets for the Ottoman court. This production continued until the end of the empire in . Around , the productions of these very fine carpets (some may surpass knots/dm²) resumed. Hereke also produces wool rugs of very good quality. Currently, a limited number of carpets are produced by the artisans of Hereke.
