This is a really beautiful antique window frame in Wood/shippy paint and Iron It came out of the barn of an old farmhouse in France - we are not sure if it was a window in that house or came from somewhere else It is likely the original glass would have been stained glass as that is quite common in the region it came from. The wood shows obvious signs of wear with the paint chipping away and the iron has a lovely rust patina. We have lightly sanded the wood, treated it for worm and applied a coat of wax It would look stunning as a decorative piece or with antiqued mirror set inside it. What a stunning over mantel or hall mirror! Very attractive golden oak window hall alcove telephone seat with two cupboards either side of a reupholstered central seat. Material is turquoise /teal and of a velour type with button back. Prominent "V" embossed in the material on the seat. The two cupboards have attractive carved doors with original handles and hinges. The right one (pictured) is open,the left one has had an extra small shelf added which is removable. All clean and in good condition inside - useful storage spaces. Minor water mark damage to left hand top - shown in photo for accuracy's sake - does not detract from appeal. It is a very attractive item that we are only selling as we downsize. We have lived in our Victorian House for 21 years and they were on the house when we bought it. Have recently removed them to change the presentation of the house. There are 5 iron retaining stays which keep the shutters in the open position. The louvres on the shutters are fixed. They do not open or close. The 4 larger shutters are: H: cm). W: cm). D: 2" (5cm). The 2 smaller shutters are H: cm). W: cm) D: 2" (5cm). Very good condition. Were last professionally varnished 10 years ago. Original hinges are a tad rusty, one is broken. See photos. Ideally collection GU26 6BP (Hindhead Surrey, 12 miles south of Guildford) or you can arrange your own courier. May possibly be able to self deliver (additional cost) depending on your postcode. Superb unrestored oak bench seat from Whitwell Station on the Nottingham – Worksop section of the Midland Railway which had Midland trains calling en route to Worksop and Retford and also LDECR trains calling en route to Sheffield.It was closed by the Beeching cuts in but remained intact until when it was dismantled stone by stone and brick by brick to be erected at the Butterley station site at the Midland Railway Centre where it can be seen today. There is good provenance with this, as it was obtained by my father when he bought the station building from BR. It has been in our family since that date.
