Beat It Night Social Event for people with disabilities

Beat It Night is a monthly social event for people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health conditions to get together and just have some fun. We wanted to run a night where anyone would feel welcome. Where people could sit and chat or get up and have a boogie. Or people could listen to live music. Where artists would have an opportunity to showcase their talents, musicians, dancers and poets. A place where people could meet old friends and make new ones. A night that felt like a celebration.

Services for People with Disabilities in Worcester

Here at Centre for Resolution we offer Mentoring, Advocacy and Workplace Support for people with disabilities. All of our services are tailor-made to suit the individual. To enable people with disabilities, we supply professionals who can advocate, consult, mentor, coach and mediate. Advocacy for People with Disabilities: We know sometimes it can be difficult to get your voice heard and when it's an issue connected to disability, it can be worrying. That's where we come in. The Centre for Resolution's advocacy service is here for those with a disability including their family, friends and carers. We make sure you know your rights, understand your options and help you get your voice heard by giving you the correct information and support. Advocacy in all its forms seeks to ensure that people, particularly those who are considered to be vulnerable in society, are able to: Have their views and wishes genuinely considered when decisions are being made about their lives. Defend and safeguard their rights. Have their voice heard on issues that are important to them. Workplace Coaching: we understand that it can be difficult for an employee that is disabled, to feel comfortable and independent whilst in the workplace. It can also be very difficult for the employer to know what to do. You may not know where to begin with an employee with a disability and the solutions that are available. Your employee is a valuable member of your team and given the right advice and guidance will not only make them feel independent but will allow them to feel comfortable, supported and will increase their performance. We know disability in the workplace can be a time of anxiousness and uncertainty but that is where we step in to make the journey easier. Things we can help you with include: Assessment of the Workplace Effective Communication Implementing Strategies Aids and Adaptations Reasonable Adjustments Available Funding Referrals Mentoring for People with Disabilities: Centre for Resolution understands from our own experiences of disability and working with other organisations for people with disabilities, that having a mentor has many benefits. The experiences and wisdom that Centre for Resolution's mentors bring can often open doors that are normally closed. When people with disabilities engage in a mentoring scheme teachers, employers, parents and carers learn about their capabilities, in spite of any disabilities they may have. Ultimately mentoring, at it's core, guarantees people with disabilities that there is someone who cares about them, assures them they are not alone in dealing with day-to-day challenges, and makes them feel like they matter.
