It was purchased piece by piece by late father at the time of issue and has been stored away ever since. It has never ever been used, played with, displayed or any other kind of use other than storage. DESCRIPTION This remarkable piece was issued on subscription only by the Waterloo Museum through Franklin Mint in . The 32 solid pewter chess pieces (placed on solid brass pedestals and embellished with a band of red/blue enamel) are authentic sculptured portraits of the heroes of the battle designed by the distinguished military artist Philip. J. Haythornthwaite. It is further certified that each piece was crafted in fine pewter by The Franklin Mint and is historically authentic in every detail. All the paperwork is in perfect mint condition and nothing has been lost, broken, scratched, torn, worn or replaced from the moment it was purchased. The chess board is dark wood with blue & pewter finished squares (size34cms = " square play area 28cms = 11") each square is 35mm.
