Four juvenile Axolotls for sale due to unfortunate circumstances, only available for their 5* forever home as that's what they were supposed to have with me... Tanks are not available as they were due upgrades and I can no longer afford such. Housed two and two. The first two (wild type) are twins born on the 5th November , so far they appear to both be male; the second two were born in January this year- one is a golden albino, the other a melanoid. Occasionally, the golden albino picks on the melanoid (one was a slow grower) and because of this, I'd like them to be housed alone (at least until adulthood). The younger two aren't mature enough to determine their gender. Looking for £50 for the twins and £20 individually for the younger two. Hi, I have baby axolotls ready to go to their new homes now, they are around 2" long. The photos are of my breeding adults, I'll have 4 colours available which is wild-type, white albino, golden albino and black/grey melanoid. These are cold water only and can grow up to inches, they can not be put in with fish such as goldfish/plecs etc as the fish will nip at the axolotls gills. You can add feeder fish (guppies, danios etc) and live shrimp but the axolotls will snack on them. You can't use gravel as the axolotl will eat the gravel which is life threatening, so either sand (I use children's play sand), or big river rocks which are bigger than the Axolotls head, or a bare bottom tank. An axolotls main diet is earth worms, i feed a varied diet which consists of earthworms, frozen bloodworms, maggots, prawns, mussels and fish pellets designed for carnivore fish. Please note axolotls can grow up to 10 inches long and you will have to prepare for them to get this size. They prefer more floor space rather than a tall tank! What type of water do they need? Axolotls are cold water fish and can be cleaned with cold tap water as long as you use a tap water treatment to remove the chlorine and chloramine. How long do axolotls live? A captive axolotls average lifespan is 10 years but they can live up to 15. What can they live in/on? Axolotls are entirely amphibious and need to live in water at all times. Sand is the best substrate for them as they can ingest little pebbles. What do axolots eat? Axolots can live on a diet of axolotl pellets and garden worms. If feeding worms ensure they are from a pesticide free area.
