Atlanta 28 yacht “Camille” Camille was refurbished over 3 years up to ashore. She was stripped back and reassembled with many new and improved parts. • All the inside was refurbished and reupholstered and new headlining applied throughout. She was rewired with new fused switch panels and remote bilge pump. Pressurized cold water and a new water tank were fitted. All wood was sanded back to bare wood and varnished. Spotlights were installed and have been replaced with LED bulbs. A 10 CD stacker was fitted with a Sony radio. A new toilet was fitted with manual pump out. All seacocks to the hull were replaced. Garmin GPS was fitted together with a NASA Battery monitor. Garmin colour plotter was installed on the main hatch, and when not in use can be stored inside. • A new main hatch was made and replaced and new grab rails were fitted. All standing rigging was replaced with new stainless steel, together with new stainless rigging screws. All lines were brought back to the cockpit with jammers and organizers, also Barton single line reefing on two reefs also controlled from the cockpit. New sail stacker and lazy jacks were installed. New spray hood and dodgers were made and a grab bar was installed on the spray hood. New flooring to cockpit was made. NASA repeater for GPS, Depth sounder and Windex were installed. Raymarine Tiller was installed. New cleats and the winches were re-chromed. Fuel tank was cleaned and all new fuel lines were made and new filters were installed. A manual bilge pump was installed in the cockpit. • A Cruising Shute was installed with a new sock and all new lines were Installed. A new genoa was made and installed will all new lines. The keel bottoms were re glassed. New plough anchor. In a reconditioned Yanmar 2GM20F freshwater cooled engine was installed with all new controls and new propeller. A new mainsail was made and fitted. A new and bigger sink was fitted in the galley. A new rudder shoe was fitted and the rudder was refurbished. New soundproofing was installed. New DSC VHF In a new cooker and oven were fitted with all new gas lines and fixings. All the inside was rubbed down and varnished. A new tiller was made. New parts of the rubbing strake were made and fitted. NASA repeater was replaced. Camille has always been out of the water for winter and antifouled annually. New anodes are fitted each year and the rigging checked. The sails are always stowed in the loft and the engine has always been serviced with new oil, filters and impellor. The cooling system is serviced and gearbox oil is changed. The sails are cleaned and the spray hood reproofed and cleaned. Camille sails very close to the wind; although a bilge keeler, she has the deep keels (draws a meter) and a skeg with keeps her straight and true. The rudder is situated on the skeg with the prop in front, so she also goes backward very nicely. She will reach 6kts on a beam wind in a F3/4 and will reach that on engine allowing for tide. The engine starts immediately and uses 1.5 litres of diesel per hour and there is no smoke. The cruising Shute goes up and down with the sock very easily and lazy jacks catch the main. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy what is a brand new, never used sailing boat at a ridiculously low price. A 28 foot gaff rigged sailing yacht with hot and cold water, shower, 4 berths, hot air heating and a 20 hp beta diesel engine with less than 80 hours on the clock. The boat was built by Peter Nicholls Boat Builders to a Tucker Design for the boat show. It was transported by road to several boat shows and then sold to an Australian couple for £. One of the partners unfortunately died and the boat was in dry storage for 12 years. The yacht was sold again and the new owner never used it. I have documents to prove everything stated above So some details. Steel built with no rust anywhere, you can eat your dinner from the bilge!! Full set of new Jeckells sails (I don't think they have ever been out of the bag) Genoa, No 1 and 2 jib and mainsail Fenders and mooring warps New standing rigging (replaced by previous owner because of time spent in storage) Gas cooker still like new but slight corrosion of the hob Cetrek depth, log and compass. All navigation lights in full working order Hot and cold pumped water to galley and shower. (the wash bash has never been used) Manual standby water pump in galley 20 hp Beta marine diesel which runs like a sewing machine (it should it is like brand new) 20 gallon stainless steel diesel tank 40 Gallon water tank The quality of build is exceptional, the washboards are solid mahogany not plywood, the port lights are polished stainless steel. The cockpit hatches are stainless steel so that any chipped paintwork will not show unsightly rust. And now the bad bits. 1. The depth speed repeater in the cockpit is dead, I suspect water ingress. 2. Some of the buttons on the saloon seating show slight rust staining. That's it newly anti fouled and ready to go anywhere any trial or inspection. The yacht is on the Hamble River NOT Wokingham! This 24 foot cruiser by Atlanta Marine is a solidly-built and capable little boat. Not a lot of info on these rare boats - think its related to the Jester 22 She is in need of some TLC but is sailable as she is. Accommodation Surprisingly roomy for the size with good standing headroom through the saloon and a proper separate heads compartment with sink. V berth in forecabin, plus one berth in the saloon and a quarterberth under the cockpit seats. Gas cooker with grill, sink, built in GRP water-tank with Whale hand-pumps to galley sink and heads sink. Table can be fitted in saloon or in cockpit. Engine Powered by the original Petter Mini-6 inboard diesel. Simple and reasonably reliable though probably in need of a service now. I have loads of spare parts for the engine...pumps, alternator, injectors etc which will all come with the sale. Sails Decent Sail-spar continuous line roller-reefing genoa. Decent main with slab reefing. Spinnaker (no pole) and original hanked on genoa. Full sprayhood with grab rail - windows newly replaced. Sail cover to mainsail. Other stuff - fenders, anchor, mooring lines, usual bits and bobs. There is an old MLR GPS but was playing up when i last checked. Simrad non DSC radio. NASA Depth and log Things that need doing: Rubbing strakes need replacing, rudder mountings (plywood blocks) need replacing. Washboards need replacing, and there's been some water ingress round the companionway which needs sorting and some of the ply lining replacing. I would take her out of the water and do antifouling and polish. Mushroom vent needs replacing - I have the part and will do this if i get round to it! Mooring components: train wheel, 6 metres steamer chain, 11 meters galvanised riser chain.
