In the LoMenzo Hyper Drive, a band of frequencies within the midrange of the bass signal is filtered out and the distortion effect is added only to this band. The filtered frequencies can be "tuned" to the precise range that gives the optimum effect. The degree of distortion available is variable from a subtle break up to huge overdrive, enabling a new range of extreme effects for bass to be created. The distortion effect can then be mixed with the original dry bass signal to maintain a powerful, full-bodied bass tone with distortion overtones. Excellent condition, boxed with manual – gigged a couple of times. Although sold as a heavy distortion bass pedal, the reviews showed this is a very flexible overdrive as you can select the frequency range for the dirt – and still keep all your bottom-end, unlike most pedals I have tried. Dozens of prototypes were tested and rejected in a period of 18 months, and the final result is an effects pedal nothing like anything Dark glass has made before. The Alpha Omega has two discrete distortion circuits that can be used separately or mixed by means of the Mod control. Combined with extra switches for growl and bite and an active EQ, this is without a doubt one of the most flexible distortion pedals for bass on the market today.
