Arthur Wood Vintage Floral Lustre Deco Jug Vase
This is a really lovely collectable vintage, hand painted, earthenware, Arthur Wood jug vase. Patter , it is richly decorated with a raised floral pattern on a fabulous cream pearlescent lustre glaze that catches the colours in the light like a rainbow. The flowers are in yellow, blue and pink, so will complement many colour schemes and it has a nice angular deco shape. It is in excellent condition for the age - no cracks, chips or crazing and even the gold trim around the top of the jug is not worn. It has been lovingly looked after, displays beautifully and is fully functional as a vase. From to the company traded as Arthur Wood & Sons Ltd. Since it has been part of Price & Kensington Potteries, still in production today at the original Bradwell Works site. In the early 's the firm name changed to Arthur Wood and Son. Work carried on, producing tableware alongside the previous work. In the 's, the company bought up Carltonware only to sell it on again.
