Lovely dark wood bureau, handmade in America in the early twentieth century. This rustic piece is a wonderfully compact, space-saving desk that can also serve beautifully as an accent piece in an entryway, dining room, lounge, or hall. Its simple lines and irregular staining carry all the character of an item made by hand for one's own home. There are even still light guidelines visible, where the craftsman measured to attach the different pieces together! Some scuffs and marks commensurate with age. Could easily be adapted to a different look simply by substituting different drawer handles.
