Vintage Wooden Letters Print Blocks And Tray Initials Italic Craft Supplies Alphabet Printing Carved

Vintage Italic Print Letters Sloping Sides in Print Tray Pickup Only There are letters and numbers, also some punctuation blocks. They are antique 19th century wooden printing characters. Each one is on a parallelogram shaped block to achieve an italic when printed and will stand up but do bear in mind as they are parallelograms they have sloping sides. They have many craft uses or can be displayed in the print tray as they are such nice wood. The letters are reversed as they will appear the correct way round when printed. Some of the letter are better for framing as have a tail (for example the f, which can't stand up, but could be laid flat on the surface or mounted). They are hand carved in hardwood which is a lovely dark colour with a nice natural lustre. As they are handmade each letter is unique and a little work of art. Originally these letters were used in printing works and would have been clamped in a printing press. These letters are always made from the finest hardwood. Typically made of walnut or rosewood. The colour is really beautiful and they can be used in many ways they can simply be placed on furniture. It is also possible to add a small fixing on the back for hanging on the wall or use them in a frame, can be glued. You could also print with them if you wanted. The letters vary in size so here is an average measurement 3cm tall. Please do ask if you want to know more about a certain initial size or any other details. Pickup only thanks. The print dated Mar 1st shows the dissections of the maxilla. Size of Print 18” x 13“(showing) in a frame & mount measuring a total of 23” x 17” Print privately owned since and it was professionally framed in London in in a gilded wooden frame with clear glass.
