This is in completely original condition so has some dents and marks that all add to its character, full of life and history. This could be used for storage (all catches and handles work),perhaps a blanket box at the foot of a bed. At the moment I have it stood on end and am using it as a lamp stand, endless possibilities. Antique Victorian Iron Bound Oak Silver Chest Trunk VERY VERY LARGE AND HEAVY Vintage This is a stunning very very large and very very heavy 19th century Victorian Solid Oak Silver Chest Trunk which makes a fabulous Storage Chest Coffee Table. Has a multitude of metal straps, two handles at each end (you certainly need them) and three locks, I do not have keys. I have sympathetically restored this VERY VERY LARGE trunk and is now clean, sturdy and ready to use. I have cleaned and highly polished with wax the exterior of the trunk. The inside has been fully cleaned and is now very clean and solid. As you can see from the large pictures the trunk has had a new floor fitted as the original one was a bit rotten. I cant emphasise enough how large and heavy this trunk is, it’s the largest trunk I have ever owned or seen. Please remember this trunk is old and shows knocks and marks and a bit of rot which you would expect from a trunk which has had a very long working life, this is all part of it’s rustic charm. A beautiful and functional piece of furniture with great character. Would suit both a period or contemporary home. Louis Vuitton Trunk Case - Steamer Trunk - Antique - Coffee

Louis Vuitton Trunk - Orange Vuittonite This trunk dates from circa and considering its age and the extensive traveling it has endured the trunk is in great condition. The construction of the case consists of a strong wooden frame wrapped with the rare orange vuittonite canvass and finished with brown leather protective trims, and branded studs, clasps and latches. Both serial numbers can be found on the inside of the lid and below the main clasp. These can identify where and when the trunk was made. The Trunk was owned by C F A Pantin who we believe was a British Zoologist educated at Christ College Cambridge. Pantin was elected as a fellow of the Royal Society in and won the Royal medal in . He went on to become the president of the Marine Biological Association. More information can be found out about him on Wikipedia. Measurements Length - 101 cm Width - 53 cm Height - 34.5 cm This would make a wonderful coffee table or center piece for any room. Condition As can be expected from an antique trunk of this age there are marks and scuffs to both the fabric and the leather to the exterior of the case (Please study photos). The interior, although in great condition, is missing the internal tray and in one corner, on the underside of the lid, the fabric has come away due to a missing fabric pin.
