VINTAGE TABLE LAMP FROM FRANCE, SURREAL /STEAMPUNK.

A vintage table lamp from France constructed from an antique cast iron shoemakers last. Table lamp base translates from English to French as “pied de lamp”, literally “foot of lamp”, so there is a note of surrealist humour by whoever made the lamp given that the base is the shape of a human foot. The cast iron last has some age to it, I would say around 100 years old, and has a lovely patina with minor nicks and dings one would expect from a working piece of equipment, and commensurate with its age. The last has been drilled through to accommodate a brass tube through which the electrical cable runs. The lamp holder and wiring (3 core, earthed) have recently been replaced for safety reasons. In the photographs the lamp base has an Edison “squirrel cage” bulb, but an alternative look could be achieved with a lampshade. Dimensions: Height: cm. 20 cm. (shoe last) Height: cm. 44 cm. (shoe last plus light holder and bulb) Length (at base) 19 cm. Given that the table lamp is cast iron and weighs 11 kilos, P&P for this table lamp would be £ via Parcel Force 48 to a mainland UK address. COLLECTION IN PERSON POSSIBLE. Read more

Antique table - Colonial Cricket Table from India - Black

I picked this antique table up a few years ago and its a beautiful piece. Its a colonial cricket table originally from India, with a very intricate wood carved pattern across all of its surfaces and legs. Some very slight damage to one of the decorative lips and one of the legs - but this would be very easily reinforced. I am happy to negotiate on price if you make a reasonable offer.

A delightful 5 piece antique porcelain/China J. C. LIMOGES Dressing Table Set comprising 1 trinket pot with lid, two candlesticks, one ring tree and a tray. Decorated with a heavy gold/gilt rim and pink roses with pink and green ivy leaf garland border. Each item bears the makers mark. Condition: As shown on photos one candlestick has one crack and a chip on the rim and the other has a chip on the underside of the rim (not visible from the top).
