Queen Anne style antique double bed, probably Victorian. Blue fabric covered solid mahogany (not veneer) head & foot, cast iron frame. Original sprung bed base fits onto frame, plus foam mattress. Double antique style metal-framed bed

Antique style metal-framed double bed with a sprung base. This is a very attractive metal-framed double bed. It is antique style not a genuine antique, but nicely detailed and firmly made – no squeaking if it is put together properly. It is on casters and finished in black lacquer and brass. The bed dismantles down to quite small parts if required for storage or transportation. The base is made from sprung plywood slats which improves the comfort level of whatever mattress you use with it. The condition of this bed is good, but there are a few places where the finish has been scratched enough for the metal to show through. In my opinion this does not detract from the looks but only makes it look more convincingly antique. Really a very handsome and useful piece of furniture, and in excellent condition apart from the slight cosmetic damage. Reasonably priced to sell. Delivery is available - £10 within 5 miles, contact me for a quote.
