This is superb quality bone china made by Thomas of Germany. There are two versions of this Medallion design, one with wide platinum edging, and the other with narrow platinum edging. I have some of each. Of the wide edged version I have five traditional coffee cups with saucers, and two plates in this very understated platinum trimmed design, by high quality German maker Thomas. They are in near perfect condition, with no cracks, chips or crazing. The dimensions are: - Cups x ins diam x 2 1/2 ins high, £2.50 ea Saucers x ins diam £2.50 ea Large plate x ins diam £5 ea Salad plate x ins diam £4 ea Would prefer to sell as one lot for £25 ono, but would consider splitting at the above prices. Of the narrow edged version I have six soup cups, two lidded vegetable dishes and one large serving plate. All of it is in excellent condition, with signs of only light wear and tear, except one of the vegetable dish lids has a very tiny chip about 2mm across, please see the photos. Antique, classic medallion Ushak from West Anatolia,

This is a classic Ushak, Oushak, like they were made back in the 17th century. Back then these carpets were often sold to England, which was becoming more and more prosperous at that time. They ended up in large mansions and castles. A similar Ushak, two centuries older than this one, can be found in Gawthorpe Hall, Lancashire, England. Inv. No. National Trust Collection Shows one like this. I have a photo of this which can be sent on request. This carpet is not that old, it's two centuries younger, late 19th/early 20th century. Nevertheless, it is still about 150 years old, which shows in this carpet. For enthusiasts, this just adds to its charm.And just very suited for use. The carpet is in good condition, a few loose threads in a corner. This can be restored, or you can choose to leave it this way. Beautiful soft brick-red with linden green to Celadon green nuances The wool still has some shine here and there. Fairly high pile, 10 mm, knots per square metre. Wool knotted on wool.
