This listing is for a beautiful rosewood veneered fusee wall hanging clock. This stunning clock has mother of pearl detailing inlaid around the dial, with some of the mother of pearl having a lovely floral design. The dial is a cream colour with black hand painted Roman numerals. Below the dial is a glass window which has hand carved grapes and leaf detailing. The clock comes with its original beautifully shaped hour and minute hands and a a circular cut key winding hole. The clock is being sold as a restoration piece as the clock requires a new glass, light restoration to the wood, a touch up to the hand painted dial, minor Mother Of Pearl restoration and the movement also needs attention. This is a truly magnificent clock made by William Cromey of Bristol in superb condition measuring 36 inches tall by 25 inches wide with a 16 inch dial. Please don't underestimate the size and weight of this beautiful clock. The case has been professionally restored, as has the dial and the movement which has a passing strike on the hour on a coiled gong (single strike). It has a single fusee movement of very high quality, it has been stripped/cleaned/ properly serviced and fitted with a new mainspring. I have no evidence of this but it would be easy to imagine this clock hanging on the wall of a bank and it is of superb quality. Antique rosewood veneered verdi wall clock

This listing is for an American antique Verdi wall clock. The wall clock has an octagonal uppercase which has a rosewood veneer. Set into the upper case is a classic white dial with black hand painted Roman numerals running the circumference of the dial. Attached to the rear of the dial is the movement housing and movement. The dial also has its original sculpted metal hour and minute hands. The clock also comes complete with its original winding key. The movement can be heard working when you wind the key. However, some minor work may need to be completed to have the movement fully operational again. The clock comes with its original pendulum. However, the wooden arm is broken so will need replacing. Newman of London Fusee English Dial Clock in Mahogany case. 8 Day Clock face diameter 12 inches (Date from "Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World Vol. 2" by Brian Loomes. Either John Newman circa Robert Newman circa William Newman circa John Newman circa High quality wire driven fusee movement with cast brass bezel. With pendulum and key. Mahogany case with both side and bottom openings. This clock was sold on E-Bay last year, the suspension spring was damaged in transit. I offered the buyer a new suspension spring, but he did not have the knowledge or expertise to replace the spring, and the clock was returned to me. Upon receipt of the returned clock the wire on the fusee barrel had come off, and the clock remains in this state. The fusee steel wire is frayed (as seen in the photograph) where it fixes to the fusee barrel, and should be replaced. One of the wooden dial securing pegs has broken. These two areas to address and repair, are minimal to anyone with knowledge and skill with antique clock repairs and refurbishment. The "Buy It Now" price reflects the fact that the steel wire on the fusee needs to be replaced and refitted, and a new wooden securing peg is required.
