The sofa is in great condition with a handle for the drop arm that can click into four separate positions. There are some minor stains in the fabric but are hard to see. A lovely drop arm settee. This was reupholstered a couple of years ago at the cost of £485. An original piece of furniture with dark oak legs with castors. One side of the settee drops down with original fittings. The fabric is called Ross Newhaven in Brick. I would describe it as a dark terracotta colour which suits this particular settee perfectly. It fits perfect in our little thatch cottage but we are moving to a more modern house so this piece of furniture must now find a new home as soon as possible. Two/Three seater Drop Arm Sofa (Antique) in Thornton

I have a two/three seater drop-arm sofa which was (expensively) resprung a few years ago. Both arms can be lowered down - so that you can put your feet up either way. This dates from the 20's/30's and could do with some loose covers to brighten it up. The contruction inside is apparently oak with iron mechanisms - so it is VERY HEAVY!!! I paid £80 in auction quite some years ago for this, and a few hundred on re-springing. The right hand arm has recently been a bit loose - i.e. not staying upright - but I'm told that that's going to be a relatively easy job to fix. Reason for offering: I needed a larger sofa, and I'm not going to let this go to the tip! Thus FREE to a good home. Collection from my home in Thornton.

ORIGINAL ANTIQUE VICTORIAN / EDWARDIAN CHESTERFIELD SOFA Attractive buttoned back piece of individual furniture. It has been reupholstered in recent years and the dusky pink velvet is in excellent condition. May need reupholstering at some point though as the springs are very bouncy. Very comfortable, but we have too much furniture and we need the space. Extremely heavy hardwood frame with turned bung feet at the front and straight legs at the back.
