Otherwise in fine condition.Flandria illustrata is the title of the most renowned work by the canon Antonius Sanderus () from Ypres, a product of the flourishing cartography and topography in the 17th century. The two volume work was published in and , first in Latin by Joan and Cornelius Blaeu in Amsterdam. It contains descriptions of cities, villages, monasteries and castles of the former county of Flanders and a biography of the counts and bishops. For the texts, Sanderus often used older publications, though many images are new work from draughtsmen and geometricians that he hired. In , a revised Dutch language version was published in two volumes: âVerheerlykt Vlaandreâ, that was reprinted three years later in three volumes.
