Rosary Beads
I have pieced together this Rosary over many years. The beads are Murano glass and will never fade. Their colour is more rich and vivid than in the photos. The medal shows the head of St Bernadette on one side and her kneeling in front of the Virgin at the Grotto at Lourdes on the reverse. I believe it to be silver, it is warm and tactile but not hallmarked. The cross is amethyst and pearl set in silver. There is a tiny.925 stamp visible to the eye but too small to show in the photograph. This rosary is categorised for sale here as jewellery. It is exquisitely beautiful to the eye and has gravitas heavier than its weight in one's hands. It is not a thing of idle beauty, the red beads are the colour of blood, the purple amethyst is the colour of the King and the silver is the purifying metal that is safe to bring to your lips. This is an item to use as an adjunct to your prayer, its beauty is merely incidental to the strength and utility of the piece. Read more
