ANTIQUE HALF GALLON FLAGONS Recovered from the Cellar of a Bury Temperance Bar & Herbalist before its Demolition for a Road Widening Scheme about 50 years ago. I can remember visiting the shop as a child in the early s. It was a Popular Temperance Bar & Herbalist which dispensed as many different (DELICIOUS & REFRESHING) Botanical and Herbal SOFT DRINKS, as most modern Bars serve Alcoholic Drinks. The Flagons are Glazed & Kiln Fired so their Colour and Lettering are Permanent. The Manufacturer's "Logo" is embossed into the Pot Before Firing, so that too is Permanent. Complete with Original Screw Cap. Our Local Museum took some, along with smaller 1 Pint Bottles of similar age. I have 3 IMMACULATE Examples of these Antique Flagons for sale. Offers over £20 each. An opportunity to purchase a beautiful collection of antique stoneware flagons.

I've had this collection of beautiful brown and cream saltglazed stoneware flagons for many years. I'm downsizing and moving into a modern home where these beauties would look a bit out of place. I purchased them all locally over the last 34 years so there is some local provenance to go with them. They each have a special feature that I love. One has the original rubber bung, another has a beautifully pulled handle, an air hole and a Cardiff stamp, a third is printed with 'Swansea Old Brewery and Davies' (Cardigan) Bonded Stores Ltd.
