Beautiful reverse.Fine collection patina.Obverse side: Attis chief on the left, wearing a Phrygian cap.Reverse: Right side of a bull's head; surrounded by KY-Z-I. See: SNG France -; SNG von Aulock ; Klein 268. The portrait on this particular subject is considered to be Attis,the spouse of the Phrygian Kybele. The androgynous Kybele/Agdistis was castrated by the Gods, and an almond tree sprung up from the cut-off parts. Attis jumped off that same tree.
