Antique Glazed Bookcase Cabinet
This attractive glazed bookcase is of large proportions. We believe it to be of continental, probably French, origins and to date from the first part of the twentieth century. It is constructed from solid wood, probably a mix of pine and fruitwood. The bookcase has a single bevel-edged glazed door, which opens to reveal four adjustable wooden shelves. Beneath this there is a single drawer with a sliding wooden cover. There are turned wooden columns to either side of the door and decorative carving to the top cornice and drawer front. The piece is supported on short turned legs to the front and square legs at the back. The glazed door and the drawer retain their locks and two keys are present which work both locks.
