Bone handle stamped with Swaine Adeney London and leather lash Handle length 14cm Cane length 49cm Lash length 102cm approx End of lash is coming unplaited (approx 15cm of the very end) but would be easy to repair.  Suitable for use in hunting field or as an ornamental item. Details about   Antique hunt whip with lash

This is a vintage hunt whip with a plaited leather lash. It has a horn handle with criss cross carving underneath. I think the collar is steel -it is not hall marked.  The collar has a small crack which appears to be superficial. It does not affect its integrity. I have tried to show this in the photos.It is wooden not plaited leather like the swaine ones are. It has a few marks and scuffs obviously because of its age and use. The binding is original as far as I'm aware, still in very good condition and is sound. It measures approx 21" along the length of the cane. Mum collected walking sticks and crops and other than the fact she had it for several years I don't know any more about it. Thanks for looking

THE SILVER COLLAR IN THE MIDDLE IS HALLMARKED FOR LONDON DATE LETTER H FOR . THEN RA THERE IS ALSO THE SWAINE & ADENEY SILVER BUTTON SET INTO THE STAG ANTLER HANDLE.  THE STAG ANTLER HANDLE MEASURES 6"INCHES WIDE. THE TOP HALF OF THE WHIP HANDLE MEASURES 20"INCHES LONG AND THE LEATHER WHIP IS 50" INCHES LONG. THE LEATHER HAS A BEAUTIFUL PATINA AND THE WHIP HAS A BEAUTIFUL FEEL TO IT.                 PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LISTINGS.
