Newman of London Fusee English Dial Clock in Mahogany case. 8 Day Clock face diameter 12 inches (Date from "Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World Vol. 2" by Brian Loomes. Either John Newman circa Robert Newman circa William Newman circa John Newman circa High quality wire driven fusee movement with cast brass bezel. With pendulum and key. Mahogany case with both side and bottom openings. This clock was sold on E-Bay last year, the suspension spring was damaged in transit. I offered the buyer a new suspension spring, but he did not have the knowledge or expertise to replace the spring, and the clock was returned to me. Upon receipt of the returned clock the wire on the fusee barrel had come off, and the clock remains in this state. The fusee steel wire is frayed (as seen in the photograph) where it fixes to the fusee barrel, and should be replaced. One of the wooden dial securing pegs has broken. These two areas to address and repair, are minimal to anyone with knowledge and skill with antique clock repairs and refurbishment. The "Buy It Now" price reflects the fact that the steel wire on the fusee needs to be replaced and refitted, and a new wooden securing peg is required. This listing is for a beautiful rosewood veneered fusee wall hanging clock. This stunning clock has mother of pearl detailing inlaid around the dial, with some of the mother of pearl having a lovely floral design.
