Brass Oil Lamp in working order

Nice old oil lamp with Corinthian type stand. It is in working order with the glass flue, but it has not got the ball type shade to go over the top. These can be picked up separately, and I tried this lamp with a shade from another one I have and it looked lovely. Double burner brass oil lamp in perfect working order.

A double burner brass oil lamp in lovely condition and perfect working order. It has new wicks and a replacement glass chimney. There is a lever on the side that brings a cover over the wicks. Not sure exactly what this is for, which is possibly to extinguish the flame (although you can do this by lowering the wicks with the height adjuster knobs) or it might be there just protect the top of the wicks and stop them drying out. I have tried to show this mechanism in the photos. I'm not sure how old it is but it appears to have had little use so my guess is that it's a modern reproduction. I rescued it from the local recycling centre about 8 years ago, gave it a clean, fitted new wicks, a chimney and some lamp oil to get it working. It has stood on a shelf unused ever since.
