THIS ITEM IS A LOVELY SQUARE WHITE COPPER & DEEP RED GLASS CHINESE TEAPOT. THE GLASS HAS LIGHTER SWIRLS OF COLOUR IN IT. A SMALL JUG LIKE LIQUID HOLDER FITS IN THE MAIN BODY OF THE POT WHICH HAS A SMALL LID WITH A JADE LIKE KNOB. THE SHOULDERS OF THE POT CARRY FOUR FINE FILLIGREE BUTTERFLYS' & THE COLUMNS CARRY FOUR DRAGONS. MOUNTED ON THE GLASS ARE FOUR CHINESE CHARACTERS. THE FIRST CHARACTER MEANS 'RICH WEALTHY' & IS REPEATED ON THE OTHER SIDE. THE SECOND CHARACTER MEANS 'BLESSING & GOOD FORTUNE' & IS REPEATED ON THE OTHER SIDE. ON THE BASE IS A MAKERS MARK. This is a wonderful and extremely rare 19th Century Chinese Silver on Copper Snuff / Scent bottle. There’s beautiful double sided handcrafted carved bovine bone panels depicting a fisherman to the outside. The bottle is also coated with silver on copper and includes gorgeous turquoise cabochons. The bottle is approximately 11cm tall and in great condition considering it’s age but is missing a small number of Cabochons.
