Antique carved wood shelf unit/bookcase

Lovely carved antique piece of furniture in dark wood. We bought it in an antique shop, liked the look of it, but we were not really sure what it was!  We have simply used it as a bookcase - but you can see from its unusual shape (one side is indented, the other side flat) and the fact that it has some metal latches on it that it was probably once part of something else - perhaps a dresser?  The wood is in lovely condition as you can see from the pics and the carvings are really lovely. We are not sure of its age. If anyone knows what this once was please do drop me a line and let me know, even if you don't wish to buy it - we've been intrigued for years! Stunning solid wood, carved antique table frame

A solid oak antique table frame that has been beautifully hand carved. I bought this from a seller who believed it was a 19th century Russian piece and intended to put a wooden top on it to make it my desk. Unfortunately upon getting it home I realised the width of the doors to my study are not wide enough and have now come to the regrettable conclusion that it needs to be moved on as it cannot be separated, hence the steal of a price. This needs a rustic piece of reclaimed wood or otherwise attached to the top to work nicely as either a desk or a dining table. It really needs to be seen to be appreciated.
