Antique shop scales with brass goods and weights pans. Mounted on a wooden base with levelling feet. 21 in wide x 10 in deep x 18 in high. Probably used in a tobacconist's shop. Made by Avery of Birmingham. One side is in good condition with wear commensurate with its age. The other side has suffered from bleaching, probably being stood in a shop window, and has marks due to sellotape. Otherwise appears to be in good working condition. Here is a beautiful set of brass scales in a wooden and glass case complete with a set of brass weights. This is a very unusual yet very precise weighing instrument.
