Roman ? Found - Stone with Engravings - Pollentia I was Metal Detecting in the fields around the ancient site of Pollentia, Northern Italy, former Gallia Narbonese. And while digging I found this nice stone engraved. It looks like a Roman found, it has the representation of a little temple, with a little winged figure holding something within. On the left side of the temple there is capital letter "S" and on the other side there is letter "C". I am no expert, but for what I know about this subject. "SC" was the abbreviation.for Senato Consulto, which means something like "with the agreement /advice of Senate". After the info I gathered about Pollentia, it was one of the biggest Roman Camps in Narbonese Gallia during Caesar's Campaign. Pollentia was then founded as a city along II Century A.D. and was very famous for pottery and wool. So that's all. Thank you for reading and Good Bidding!
