Mbole artists are renowned for their anthropomorphic figurines, with their hands on their hips, the shoulders projected frontwards, they represent a hangman called Ofika. This is why this piece is extremely rare, this is a figurine representing the ancestors, carved in a similar style; they are recognisable by their flatened shoulders and their horizontal feet, I invite you to discover a similar figurine in the book of J-B Bacquart, L'Art tribal d'Afrique Noire, P.145, Figure 4.
