Antony displayed in brown Franciscan habit and one of his attributes, the lily (symbol of virginity) - the child Jesus depicted as a small adult.Anthony of Padua (Lisbon, 15 August June ), born as Fernando Martins de Bulhões into a rich, noble family, was a friar who was a theologian and a Doctor of the Church - he is regarded as an important holy person -he is the patron saint of the Franciscan order, lost objects, women and children, the poor, bakers, miners, marriage, travellers and lovers and patron against shipwreck, the plague and fever. He is also invoked by Catholics when objects are gone - from as early as the 13th century the holy Anthony of Padua is known for his help in finding lost objects. Wonderful large Mary statue in baroque style. The statue has beautiful details and has a very serene feel. It is an early statue with a solid size, approx. 62 cm high, from . It is in its original unrestored condition, of course, it is somewhat worn, which is no surprise after approx. 250 years of intensive religious use. It has some flaws including the polychrome and hands, see photos. All of this gives this statue a beautiful melancholic appearance. Mary is standing on a crescent of the moon, with the serpent, which is dying under her feet. This refers to the fact that Mary, as the mother of God, is free from original sins, the statue is very decorative and finely carved, it has glass eyes.Since time immemorial, this Madonna has stood high on the altar in a chapel at a monastery in the Moselle region in Germany. Beautiful large Madonna, standing on the serpent of depravity, a sign of Maria’s immaculate conception, without original sins. The statue is painted in multi-colours. She is definitely not in perfect condition, but she has a beautiful worn patina and a warm serene look, and some imperfections to the hands, see photos, a sign of more than 200 years of intensive religious use. Maria has glass eyes, she seems to look at you, this is typical of statues from Tirol and Northern Italy from the Baroque period.Origin: this Maria statue stood high on a nunnery altar in the Brussels area, quieted and almost forgotten in recent years; the monastery has long since closed. However, it has the characteristics of the Habsburg Baroque. Exact provenance unknown.Condition: the statue is in worn condition and bears signs of wear due to age and religious use, see photos. Dining Table: An elegant and impressive, triple pedestal,

An elegant and impressive, triple pedestal, Regency style, dining table, which comfortably seats . Perfect for dining or boardroom use. It measures 390cm (12 feet, 91/2 inches) long, 122 cm (4 feet) wide, and 78cm (2 feet, 61/2 inches) high. It is made in three sections, each 130cm (4 feet, 31/5 inches) long, so that the middle section and pedestal can be removed, leaving the two end sections which fit together to make a smaller table, measuring 260cm (8 feet, 62/5 inches) long. The surfaces are a rich mahogany veneer, and the top is decorated with crossbanding in two contrasting woods. The two end pedestals each has three splayed legs, and the central pedestal has four; they legs terminate in brass, lion's-paw feet on casters. The two end sections are in good condition; the top of the central section is scratched (but could easily be repolished), and the veneer of the central pedestal needs some repair. The reasonable price reflects both the condition of the table, and the fact that it cannot be delivered, so that purchaser must arrange for collection: £500.
