Saturday school for students who have English as their

Summer Success was founded by myself, an English and Psychology teacher as I firmly believe that a good education is an important foundation for a child to build his or her future life upon. My teaching experience has taught me that there are times when extra support is necessary for students who have English as their second language to be able to access their learning and progress in the classroom to reach their full potential. The number of students who speak English as a second language in schools has risen by 20% in England in five years and some schools have not adapted teaching strategies or implemented successful interventions to support such students. Summer Success' English language programme has been designed in line with the national curriculum to teach students practical everyday English which they can transfer to their classrooms. The classes put an emphasis on speaking, listening and vocabulary using visual aids and materials. The Saturday school provides teaching to students aged 5-16 and charges a fee of £10 per hour. The programme runs from 9:30 am until pm every Saturday for a duration of 10 weeks. Each student will be assessed on their first and last day by which parents and guardians will be able to assess the success of the programme and choose to continue to commit further after the 10 weeks. The 10 week programme will run from January the 2nd until March the 5th. The location will be Roding Valley high school in Loughton. All teaching material is supplied by the school.
