Early s African Blackwood Henderson bagpipes with Natural Mounts

For sale is a complete set of early s Henderson Bagpipes. The set come with the original Stamped Chanter and natural (I) sole and the Mounts are also natural (I) material. Chanters of this era were much flatter in tone than modern day chanters however an additional chanter can be supplied if you wish. The Pipes come with New Hybrid Gortex Bag and moisture trap, New Ezeedrone Moisture control reeds, new black zipper bag cover, and silver cords, I also have either a Hard bagpipe case or a RG Hardie soft case which has seen better days but serviceable. The Pipes are owned presently by Pipe Major Dixie Ingram whom has asked me to sell them, on his behalf. The Pipes are in excellent condition for their age and the mounts have no chips or cracks and the chanter has not been modified in any way. Henderson pipes are still regarded as the best pipes in the world due to their distinct sweet mellow sound and I am certain any buyer will not be disappointed with their purchase. WarMac pipe chanter **African Blackwood with hallmarked silver sole**

For sale is a WarMac pipe chanter in African Blackwood with double hallmarked silver sole. The chanter was played by Shotts that were also the subject matter surrounding Shott's fallout with the McAllisters brothers. I have been told (and I am quoting here) that back then Shotts P/M R.Mathieson was not satisfied with the chanters and that offended the McAllisters brothers, so they recalled all the chanters that were loaned to Shotts. Hence, R.Mathieson wrote the tune "Farewell to Camraw" ("Warmac" backwards!). The chanter carries a double hallmark on the silver sole - one on top of the sole and one below - which is very unusual. Every chanter in the same batch also carries a unique number on the bottom of the sole. It is not known what the number represents. This chanter has a number 2 inscribed onto the bottom side of the sole - as I was told this normally stands for the Pipe sergent's chanter. The chanter is very compatible with most makes of reeds. The notes are very true and balanced regardless of the pitch of the chanter (the chanter pitches at 468Hz to 480Hz depending on reeds and external conditions) and the chanter sounds very bright and full. It is very forgiving with many reeds - very good with Ezee, G1, MG and Warnock reeds. The external profile and shape of the chanter is excellent - feels great in the fingers.
