German Spitz Mittel for Rehoming
This is Dusty, she is 6-8 years old and is a German Spitz Mittel. We are looking for someone to take on this beautiful girl as my mother is unable to keep her due to health issues (which i will elaborate on further down the message). She is loving and very friendly, good with cats but not other dogs so much. She is a lap dog and loves a good cuddle on the sofa and needless to say she's absolutely stunning. Please no time wasters, whomever takes her on will do so ensuring a permanent home as she hasn't had stability or so we have been told. Things you need to know: We are unclear of what happened in Dusty's early life as the previous owner told us she was 8 and had been with her all of Dusty's life, However since receiving her we've been informed that she has had several previous owners and the vet believes she is younger than stated. When we got Dusty she was terrible with other dogs and didn't know how to love more than one owner. In the past two years we have taught her tricks and also how to play! (which she never used to do) My mum has another Dog (Lola) and at first Dusty and Lola never got along but slowly introducing them to each other worked and they get on perfectly and even enjoy a cuddle sometimes, this is the same with my Sisters dog also. However, She is not good with stranger's dogs and will bark. I am trying to tame her out of this but have yet to be successful. When Dusty is on a lead she does this cough which is called "Reverse Sneezing" which is common in small dog breeds, we have been informed by many people that this is not hurting her and does not choke her, However to be cautious we use a harness and retractable lead. She is fed meat and biscuits in the morning and just biscuits at night and would need to be brushed ideally at least once every two days but we try to brush her every day as it's something she enjoys. she is extremely clean including washing her paws after going outside. As previously stated, my mum has another dog which is why she thought there would be no problems with her health if she had another one and wanted to give Dusty a permanent home with her and Lola. However, in the last two years my mums health has been up and down and in cases has nearly died. One of the reasons for this is due to the fact that Dusty has long, thick fur which gets on her chest and causes her to become very ill, once ill she cannot move and Dusty's fur gets worse due to not being able to maintain her which makes her chest worse and so on, So it is a vicious cycle. Since my mum has found this out she has still been reluctant to rehome her due to Dusty's past but i have insisted on at least trying. I would of had her but unfortunately i do not live in a flat that allows pets and cannot move as it isn't rented. If there is any further information needed please feel free to contact me at anytime regarding this and i will answer to the best of my knowledge. Ad ID:
