Acer Aspire Revo R mini PC

This is a Revo R Atom based mini PC. I have always used this as a media center PC with OpenElec/XBMC and it works brilliantly. The Nvidia ION chipset is fully HD capable so coupled with XBMC creates a very nice media PC. I have upgraded my TV to a Smart TV which whilst not as nice as XBMC does what I need and so sadly concluded that I should rationalise stuff in my media cabinet. I have installed Linux Mint (18.1, Serena Cinnamon Edition) on the Revo as this is an excellent general purpose Linux distribution with similar look/feel to Windows and makes the machine usable out of the box. Obviously, you can install your own OS, media centre (e.g. XBMC) or even Windows 10. This is a “lightweight” PC – use for web browsing and documents; it is not powerful enough for games, photo or video editing or any heavy processor/memory work but as a media center or a net top it is ideal.
