Large, Polished Nautilus Fossil (Madagascar) Cretaceous Age
Nautilus Fossil from Mahajanga, north east coast of Madagascar. 120 million years old, Creataceous period. Size: approx g. Highly polished giving an iridescent sheen to the beautiful, rich, natural colours of the minerals forming the fossil. Nautilus are marine creatures that still survive to this very day, inhabiting the Indo-Pacific ocean. Fossils of this size are becoming harder to find as fewer specimens are now exported from Madagascar.
