This is a Tanglewood Canyon 2 four stringed bass flamed maple body. Custom build to an 8 string duel octave. The neck is a standard 40mm at the nut. Standard 4 string bass... so no need for large hands...! As a bass player myself I built this to play as I love the sound delivered from an 8 string, but my hand could not be comfortable on a wide neck. So I built this... and it sounds and plays great... (I have built several for people as they liked the way it felt to play). This is a normal tanglewood Canyon 2 flamed maple body. East river pickups. Machine heads black chrome. Wal Bass guitars were produced since the 's by Electric Wood Ltd in High Wycombe in England and are highly sought after instruments. This bass guitar is no exception. It has a original bridge and tone/volume knobs and features a beautiful top and back, a mahogany body, Rose fingerboard and black/chrome hardware. The bass comes with the original Wal rectangular case and guitar toolkit. The case is also in excellent condition with all the locks and hinges working perfectly. Custom made 5 string thru-neck Bass guitar – virtually unplayed and in absolutely mint condition

This bass was made for me in by James Huxley and since then it has had less than a few hours use, and has never been out of my house. It is in absolutely mint condition, as you can see from the photos. I made a mistake in getting a 5-string made – I could not get on with it, so I have only ever played it a few times at home, as I always play my 4-string. • Body wings are in mahogany with AAA grade quilted maple and contrasting 0.6mm veneer sandwich. • Multi-laminate neck of Rock Maple with contrasting 0.6 mm stringers. • Edgebound ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot markers on the face and the edge of the fingerboard. • Bartolini MV bright passive pickups with an 18v active harness. • Gold Schaller bridge & Gotoh tuning pegs, Gold strap buttons. • Hiscox hardcase. The 3 knobs at the bottom are Bass, Mid and Treble. The small 3-position switch below the knobs is for the mid-frequency selection. One of the 2 knobs just below the bridge is for blending the two pickups, and the other (Push-Pull) knob is for the Master volume and Active/Passive setting. 1 7/8 inches wide at the nut.....2 5/8 inches wide at the 12th fret.......35 inch scale.   Mark 1 Wal custom Bass 4 string

Hi, after much soul searching i have finally decided to sell my beautiful Wal Bass, the bass was manufactured in and has wenge facings with a very unusual and striking blonde strip running the whole length of the bass front and back. The bass is 30+ years old so is not in pristine condition but is still a 9/10 for me,some light wear on the headstock end edge (the usual type of wear) and the laquer has slightly worn and slightly discoloured above and below the neck pick up but its only through normal playing, to keep her safe she comes with the original brown Wal case which is still in good condition with all clasps working.The bass speaks for itself as in the top quality craftsmanship and playability and it has a sound that still makes the hairs on my neck stand up even now. I will be sorry to see her go but needs must and the bass spends all its time on a stand instead of being put to good use i would prefer a cash sale but will take a paypal regards Derek  NOTE... re-listed due to a time waster, no international buyers please unless you contact me first for a firm courier costing and no members with feedback less than 10 regards Derek
