6 VINTAGE OVAL STEAK / DINNER PLATES 6 These are 6 impressive large oval steak plates / platters for sale. These were inherited from mom but we need to sell in order to down size. I always thought that there was something very special about these dinner plates. The plates are oval in shape and white in colour. They have a gold rim which is in really good condition. They also have colourful fruit displayed on them e.g. grapes, plums, pears, and berries. Food on these wonderful plates always looks deliciously tempting, and rich and flavorsome. They were exceptionally good for any dinner from a tasty steak meal to a vibrant healthy salad. The base of the plate displays the following; - ROYAL TUDOR WARE A PICTURE OF A CROWN BARKER BROS STOKE ON TRENT ENGLAND IRONSTONE EACH INDIVIDUAL PLATE ALSO HAS THE FOLLOWING: - Plate 1 28 MADE IN ENGLAND (NO STAMP ON THIS PLATE.) 2 T 28 3 T 35 4 T 35 5 U 54 6 U 74 The plates are STRONG AND STURDY. They are pottery or ceramic plates rather than china. I reckon that they are approximately 35 years old. CONDITION The plates feel wonderfully smooth to the touch. Although I have very old eyes, I can see that none of these beautiful plates are chipped. On the whole, although used, they are in EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD CONDITION. Only one of the plates appears to have 2 or 3 lines of fine crazing. This crazing is extremely inconspicuous. There are some fine scratches here and there, as can be expected with plates that are this old. However, these are not particularly noticeable.
