Neutered Female Cocker Spaniel (Working Type)

Very sadly we are looking to re-home one of our dogs. She is a Cocker Spaniel, working type although has never been worked and I don't think would be particularly good at it. She's good at chasing Pheasants and flushing them although sometimes has selective hearing when it comes to recall. She needs to be re-homed as we have a more dominant spaniel who fights with her when any attention is shown. This got worse after our first child was born and we have another on the way. She isn't aggressive at all so it's not her fault. She is a very soft and attention seeking dog. Very gentle around children. We rehomed her when she was 1 from a family who bought her as a lap dog (She's 4 now). Her first year seems to have been a bit traumatic for her, locked up for most of the day, never properly toilet trained or exercised. In the right home she would be a great family pet, she loves attention, but she is a working type dog who is very energetic. She will curl up on the sofa if given the opportunity, but she would also charge around the house like a lunatic! She needs to go to a home with another dog for company and also can't be left at home for long periods - she still has the odd accident in the house, but this is very rare now. She whines a bit usually when excited at tea time or mornings. I've probably portrayed her in a worse light than she is, but I think its important to be as honest as possible. She will make a lovely pet for someone. She'll need a good hours walk a day and will love attention from people. She's great with children, very gentle. She's ok with cats if she knows them, will chase others. She's not aggressive towards them, just inquisitive. Fine with all other dogs. Getting better with Sheep, but I wouldn't ever let her off a lead in the same field just in case. She'll chase chickens if given the chance. She is from working stock so is very energetic and lively. You won't come back from a walk with a clean dog - she'll be covered in mud and probably want to jump on a sofa! We have no rush to re-home so want to find the right home/family for her. I would want to carry out a home check also. Happy for any visits to see her, however we wouldn't let her go anywhere straight away and would want a couple of visits to make sure she is right for you. Please do get in touch if you think you have the right home for her, she really is a lovely dog and if it wasn't for the other spaniel we would keep her.
