Three lovely quiet and friendly chickens that liked to be picked up and made a fuss of. Oreo is a barred rock I think and is black and white and about a year old. Cheeky is a Light Sussex and very elegant and probably my favourite. Goldie is a warren I think and about 2 years old. She is losing a few feathers but still laying. She is the boss I think. Anyway. We have 6 hens left (commercial browns) and 1 cockerel (Sussex mix) - all very healthy. Had them since day olds and always have been free range with ample space. They have been indoors when the avian flu restrictions required them to. Still, great producers as Commercial Browns chicken are: nearly 1 egg a day each even in colder months. £10 for each hen (cockerel is free to a good home). Available on the phone in evenings ( onwards or on weekends). Pick up on weekends preferred but also available in evenings during the week. Also have Pekin ducks and Bronze turkeys.

Six Goldline Chickens (Hens) for sale due to us reducing our flock size to cope with family needs and our disabilities. We have to reduce our small (21 hen) flock to keep giving them the very best of care. These chickens have been our PETS and any home should be prepared to continue to treat them as such. Goldlines: These girls have a very inquisitive nature and will certainly keep you entertained with their antics. They are ideal hens for first time chicken keepers, especially families with young children, as they are very friendly and easy to tame. A Goldline will quite happily eat from your hand once she gets to know you! They have pretty brown/red feathers with white under-feathers and tails. These girls have a traditional “farmyard chicken” look about them. They are very similar in nature and appearance to Blacktail hens. Goldline hybrids are one of our most prolific layers and will provide you with approximately fabulous large brown eggs per year. All of them are healthy girls, laying most days, have been wormed and are friendly although not hand tame (mostly due to time as above!) They have been fed on a high quality layers pellet feed and are free range over our 1/3 acre garden nearly all day long. They have a large run for the few hours they are in. They are all about months old and have had their first moult. They have most of their feathers back now and are looking great again. They are all of a good weight although Goldlines aren't fat chickens by nature (as my young son says 'they're egg-laying chickens, not eating chickens'!) They will make lovely pets and produce really large tasty eggs most days. They are considered one of the best for laying eggs.
