Tortoise Rehoming with experience and care
Should you have to make the difficult decision to rehome your pet, which we understand can be a difficult and emotional time, we can assure you we can provide first class husbandry, fully lit and heated indoor and outdoor enclosures, full-time care and access to an experienced reptile specialist vet. We will care for them as our own for however long it takes to match them with the perfect new home. Throughout this year I have been ontacted owners desperately needing to find homes for their tortoises due to life changes. Through no fault of their own they have found themselves being unable to provide everything their pet needs. I am happy to say I have been able to help by finding great, experienced forever hopes for 26 tortoises and adopting several more who melted my heart and are now part of our family. At present, we ourselves have 14 pet tortoises of various common captive bred species - Sulcatas, Leopards, Horsefield and redfoots etc They are all extremely healthy and are housed in small groups. And all, even the timid ones, eat out of our hand, many coming when called and following me around the garden as I work as we grow the majority of their fresh feed organically to be able to monitor the quality of their nutrition. I have decided I cannot have any more pet tortoises as our own (famous last words) BUT we have an extended network of "Tortoise Friends", and a long list of experienced and capable people waiting to adopt. These potential owners have proven they have the ability and facilities to offer a caring forever home. Please be wary of adverts for rehoming services who are also offering hatchlings for sale! I DO NOT BREED TORTOISES. Please do not contact me looking for hatchlings or for a mate for your tortoise to breed from. I can also offer rescue and rehabilitation for tortoises that have not had the correct care through their life and are in need of some extra TLC. Please don't allow your loved tortoise to go to inexperienced or irresponsible new owners as the levels of chronically ill and dying tortoises is steadily rising. For further information or if you have any questions at all please message me. As part of ongoing care for your new tortoise, I will always be on hand to help create a good setup and enclosure or help with anything else along the way. Read More
