Hi, I bought this cello secondhand for my daughter for her 6th birthday, as the person I bought it from told me it would be the ideal size for her age. As I did not know anything about cello sizing I went ahead and bought it. Unfortunately when she started her lessons I had to borrow a 1/8 size from her tutor, so therefore she did not get to use this one. I have kept hold of it since, so she could move onto it when she was ready but a year has past and she is still using the 1/8 size and just about ready for a 1/4 size now, therefore I would like to sell this one to purchase the correct size for her as soon as possible. There are a couple of superficial marks on there which are shown in the photos, but it does not compromise the sound or quality of the instrument. Stentor make some of the most reasonably priced beginners violins and are often recommended by music teachers, so this would be great for someone just starting out or moving up from a smaller size. This 1/2 size is suitable for a child aged 7-9 and comes with a bow and case. It was my partners when she was younger, but it saw very little use and now we're looking to give it a new home. It is even across all the strings and has been set up to play easily. It is a beautiful - looking instrument with a good flame on the wood on the back and ribs. I have just spent £140 on putting a new bridge and soundpost on it to put it in tip-top playing condition. The bridge is cut nice and low to make playing in the high positions and up the A and D strings really comfortable. It is set up with a quality set of strings, which retail at over £100. The cello is 15 years old; and thought, by my Luthier, to be a good quality instrument made in a Chinese workshop.The cello has been valued by my luthier in the £ region for quality and sound. Beginners Cello and bow with black hard foam case 1/2 size,

We are selling a 1/2 cello and bow with a black hard foam case that is in excellent used condition. The cello was made in China and is a beginners level instrument, ideal for early grade exams. There is also a soft bag case for the cello (also black) not shown in photo as this is what the instrument came with. Please refer to the photos that show some tiny knocks to the varnish edge of the cello. The black case has dark blue velvet like material inside. It has adjustable back pack straps and handy wheels, and also a zip compartment on the back. This case was purchased separately for the cello and cost £90 when new. Grab a bargain as this is a much cheaper way for children to try out an instrument than renting a cello.
