Beautiful 8yr old male spur thigh tortoise with full setup

My gorgeous boy shaka is for sale. He is an 8 year old spur thigh tortoise who at only 8 inches in length still has lots and lots of growing still In him!! Reason for selling is that he cannot be brought out of his bed due to our dog having a real disliking to him and even when we have been careful, carelessness can happen and the poor boy has had too many near misses, I feel it will be so much better for him to go to a home where he can be left to roam to his hearts content which he did before out dog arrived 3 years ago (it has taken this long to make this big decision so please don't think it has been taken lightly). He will come with his care and breeding pamphlet and his birth certificate (which is a legal requirement so he is fully LEGAL) Recently had his beak and nails trimmed but both due again as they grow very quickly. He can come with or without his setup. His bed had been custom made and is very very heavy so would recommend a van or large car with seats down if possible. It is 5ft 5" X 3ft 1". The panel over his open bit it caged so is safe around other pets (providing they don't jump on it!!) and the panel over his hide is just wooden, both panels lift up separately but unfortunately it would only let me upload three photographs! A few wooden panels do need re-nailing /screwing into place and the waterproof lining of his bed needs re- gluing in places if you do decide you want it. Bowls, feeding slate etc will all be provided. His bulb fixture is bayonet, and currently has a 40watt bulb (all the shops had) but does prefer 100watt whilst he's still small. I can include a 100watt screw fit bulb in case you decide to get and adaptor (around £10 but screw bulbs are easier to get hold of). We also put in a uv bulb (which is included) for a couple of days a month to compensate for not being out much, I would also recommend this anyway on a warm day when you can as it really strengthens the shell and keeps it healthy! I also would like to give a blanket I brought him home in if okay with the buyer, when he is out he often chooses to go and lie on it as it is a comfort to him. We will also give you his heat mat that he likes in his sleep hide. I will be more than heartbroken when my gorgeous shaka goes so must only go to the right person who has knowledge of tortoises, and who also understands the size he can potentially grow to and be able to accommodate this! This is Tortoise. We have had her/him since he/she was born in . We do not know if she is a she or he. In she had a operation to put her stomach back in and has shown no signs of ill health since then. The vet said it was because she was ingesting sand and was best not to use sand for a few years. We now use sand with no problems. She is quite big now approximately 12cms in length. She is quite a speedy mover and as such we felt it unfair to keep her in the small tortoise homes so she lives in a 6ft book case which I lay on its back and covered the bottom with pond liner. It has 2 lights one at each end. One bulb needs replacing. I like to mix up the terrain regularly so she don't get bored. Currently I have one side just sand and the other sand covered in hay. You can take the enclosure and light and other accessories for free. I will scour the loft for her official certificate. I am selling to pet owners, I am not selling to those who wish to buy her/him for breeding. Read more
