2 narrowboats canal boats old working pair, butty and motorboat both bantock ft & 72ft
This add is for a pair of old working boats (2) the butty has NO ENGINE. I'll start by describing the butty, she's 72 foot long, number 61 built by Thomas Bantock of Wolverhampton. This boat dates to with proof from the boat museum at Ellesmere port. She has an iron hull with a steel bottom and has a steel back cabin (traditional interior) and a fore cabin of wood clad in aluminium. This has a living room with shire stove, dining table, kitchen with a butler sink, a full size cast iron stove that heats water and radiators, bathroom has a cast iron roll top bath, towel radiator, sink, then wardrobes and a side bed. Also has a Rutland wind generator and solar panel reg box. Was blacked 5 years ago (iron hull is very thick) Down side is she's been standing for a year and needs some work to the wooden top and hand rails, finishing interior and a really good clean. The motor boat is Buckingham, 62 foot in length, cast iron hull with a steel bottom made by Thomas Bantock of Wolverhampton. She's a cut down butty with motorist stern added in the early s. The butty part (about 45 foot) was dated to by previous owner but I've nothing to substantiate this. Traditional back cabin with stove etc. Engine is an early Lister SR 3 in very good condition, always serviced and runs very nicely. The back cabin has a wooden top again clad in aluminium. Part of the forward hold has been converted under the tarps (about 20 foot) with a wooden pitched roof and 3 inches of insulation. This consists of a 3 foot toilet area and old wash basin, kitchen of 6 foot with Belfast sink, and a 10 foot living/sleeping area. The roof height is 7 foot. After that the rest is open hold under tarps starting with a 600 kg hydraulic ramp (4 foot) litre water tanks (4 foot) and the rest storage. She was blacked around 3 years ago and hull was checked and some welding around the prop area was done. (was going a bit thin so the welding and some plates were put in for piece of mind) Down side is she's been standing for a year also and wooden back cabin needs a little work to make totally waterproof, needs new side doors for engine room making and a few bits of finishing. (I will be trying to complete some of these while this ad runs) Both boats have a boat safety for over a year but could be up to 2 years (ill check records and post an update) The first 4 pictures are of Siberia the second 5 are of Buckingham.
