I also have some of the rare REX gerbils which have a wavy/curly coat that looses a bit of curl as they age and then look sort of long haired but they are soft as ever! 2 gerbils, only a few months old, I got them after my last one died at 3 years old but because I have cats I can't get them out and handle them as much as I'd like to do I think they'd be happier and get more attention in another home. They are easy to look after, they don't smell at all. They don't need an exercise wheel so they're also quiet! They like making tunnels so need a lot of material for that.
