Antique American rocking chair, late 19th century

A lovely condition late 19th Century (Victorian) American Rocking Chair with turned bobbin spindles. I understand the date to be around , and I believe the wood used is Walnut. I am not an antiques expert, therefore I have described the age and wood type to the best of my knowledge, but cannot make any guarantees! Most of these chairs seem to be described as Walnut, however I've seen one antique person saying it's mahogany - how you tell the difference is beyond my ability. It has its own particular rocking mechanism, it rocks on its own base with two coil springs to bring it back to the centre. The fabric is floral patterned and fixed by studs (none seem missing), I think this has been recovered some time in it's long history. The fabric doesn't appear to have any staining or damage at all. The woodwork seems great condition to me, the only really tiny fault I can find is a little piece under one of the arms which I'd say is not an issue, and I'm pretty thorough with these kind of checks! The chair is very comfortable and has a nice rocking motion. The seat and the seat back are gently contoured. Dimensions (really approx) are - 100cm high, 54cm width, 90cm depth, and seating area approx 43cm width. Collection would obviously be preferred as I don't normally ship furniture, and also this gives you a chance to examine the chair, but if you're unable to collect we may be able to arrange something. 19th Century Now Rocker Rocking Horse

A truly stunning and quite rare 19th Century Bow Rocker we have named Wallace. What is so striking about Wallace is his beautiful soft face, mouth and even teeth. He has a kind face! I have been informed he is not to be ridden by children but has been ridden by a beautiful Steiff bear for a time. The magnificent 19th Century bow rocker pictured above is the same as the one owned by the renowned, wealthy and influential Phillips family in Lancashire, the horse has a fascinating provenance and also featured in the BBC 2 adaptation of Michel Faber's novel "The Crimson Petal and the White" if you managed to watch it. The measurements are - from the head his height is 3 foot 11 inches and from his saddle his height is 3 foot and the length is 6 foot 5 inches. Wallace has been restored but due to time may need some tlc. For this reason I am pricing him a bit more reasonably. 19th Century child's straight back chair.

This small child's 19th Century chair is in excellent condition, it just needs a good polish. The seat is caned and there is a little break in the cane at the front, but otherwise intact. The chair stands 37" from the floor to the top of the back and the seat is 12" across.
