Impeccably behaved at events and sits in the middle when out in a group. Good in traffic, good with farrier, dentist. Up to date on vaccinations. He prefers hacking in company but will go on his own once a bond is built. brilliantly behaved at the beach, just a little more forward in a walk. Jumps a small coarse but not used to fillers yet. Alfie's good points: He is a beautiful boy with lovely paces, as seen through lunging. He can be very gentle in the stable and loves a cuddle Loves to be groomed and pampered Has great prospect with the right home He is a lovely character and really wants to try and please and be gentle Alfies riding history: When viewing Alfie, excuses were made about a saddle not being available and so on, so I did not see him ridden. But I was shown pictures and a very short video. When trying to ride him at current yard, he wouldn't stand at the mountain block and when getting on, I was barely in the saddle before he bolted off and bronced me off. This happened another time before I got a second opinion and it was found that at the time he had sore back but since then he has had his teeth, back, tack and feet checked and he is sound. I haven't however tried to ride him as he has shattered my confidence. Other information: Alfie can be very strong and will take advantage sometimes. He is very spooky and wary of his surroundings. He has seperation anxiety and will act up if left alone in a field or if he can not see other horses. Alfie needs an experienced, knowledgeable, forever home with someone who can give him the time, patience and dedication to take him right back to basics. It was thought that the problems that Alfie has, has been through his previous homes. Since being injured from being thrown off and just not having the knowledge, I cannot give him the home he needs. Sold by Terena Tyhurst based in Austwick, North Yorkshire. I wanted to buy him but I had no way to get up north to get him and id only just lost my mare so was reticient to jump in at the time. However, he is a youngster who needs a lot of work.Hr has been walked through traffic and isnt too bad but does need work on going alone, as he has always had a friend to walk out with and can be unsure. My boy is 16.3 (ish), thoroughbred gelding. Unfortunately, through no fault of his own, I have been "over-horsed" and he needs someone more confident than myself to take him on. He is an ex - racehorse, retired sound in , and has been retrained. He is quite a strong horse and has a lot of get up go! He is not a novice ride as he does get very excited due to not being worked much lately. I think he would benefit greatly from a new home where he can be used to his potential. I have owned him for a few months after buying him through a friend of a friend. He has very good manners on the ground and is great for the farrier and dentist.
