A gorgeous 14hh New Forest 10 yr old gelding. A friendly, loving pony with lots of character. He is keen to please in every way. 14hh Bay Gelding 18 Year Old Pony For Sale in Colchester

Our adorable pony is well schooled, has great paces is easy to ride and is for sale due to being outgrown by my daughter. He has many years left in him and looks amazing. He really is up for anything, he is excellent in the heaviest of traffic including lorries, double deckers, combine harvesters, skip lorries etc. He hacks alone perfectly either by himself or with company, he competes regularly and does well in Working Hunter Classes, Showing, Xcountry, Showjumping, Dressage, Hunter trials, Long Distant rides, ODE and has been attending PC for the last three years including rallies and 4 day camp and area dressage. Currently jumping any height up to 2'6" maximum. Happy to go through water. Happy to be first or last. He will stand tied up to a trailor all day or can be happily left inside a trailor at shows. He always does well at shows and in the ribbons. Happy to be ridden bareback. He is excellent to catch, trim, pulling mane, bath, lunge, load, clip, worm, farrier and is up to date with worming, teeth, vaccinations and back. He does not barge and is happy to be sprayed with flyspray etc. Lives in or out alone or in company with mares or geldings. Happy to be in a stable on straw or shavings. Happy to have dry or wet hay. He has front shoes on every 5-6 weeks to keep his toes short. Has not lost a shoe since we have owned him. Excellent with electric fencing. He does not particularly like his girth being done up but if you speak to him before you do it he is usually fine. Brilliant with sheep chickens dogs etc. He is looking for a confident lightweight adult / child / teenager to enjoy his fun loving, cheeky character. I have also ridden him but I am too heavy. I am 5'6" and easily suits my height as he is a hunter type. His breeding is unknown. He can be a novice ride on the lead rein as my Daughter started off on the lead rein with him but would not suit a total novice off the read rein as he can be a bit cheeky and put in the odd titchy little buck which is easy to sit and not nasty in anyway (he would not do this with an adult or teenager). He is very happy to adapt to the level of any rider. He has been part of our life for 3 years and the previous owner for 10years (we still keep in contact with them). Have loads of photos and videos. I am genuinely an honest person and keep in contact with our last pony that we sold three years ago and would like to do the same with whoever buys our lovely Brambles. He comes with a very good quality snaffle bridle, saddle, rugs etc. He has slight arthritis in his near fore foot but does not normally need any treatment and this does not affect him. He would also be perfect for a mother / daughter share or an adult who wants to have fun hacking and having a go at anything as he can carry up to stone. Happy to answer any questions at all but hopefully I have detailed everything in this advert This is a very difficult decision for my 11 year old daughter. Bertie is our gorgeous mother daughter share cob gelding who we have owned for 2 years. He is currently in work 4-5 days per week schooling, hacking and natural horsemanship games/sessions however my daughter is not doing as much as hoped and I'm finding it difficult to keep up the work I think Bertie needs to bring him on. Bertie is kept at Southview yard just outside Wellingborough. It has miles of off road hacking including a nice long strip to gallop up, and a flood lit ménage. There are lots of people to hack with and the potential to join the yard parelli group. I am looking for someone who wants to work with Bertie at least 2 days per week, who is no more than 11.5 stone in weight, and who is happy to ride in a treeless saddle. You will also need rider insurance please, which I will check. Payment to made monthly in advance. We can agree set days or I can be totally flexible depending on what you want to do. Bertie can occasionally spook when out hacking, particularly if alone, although he tends to jump to the side or forward and comes back to listen pretty quickly. However, he can nap if you try a route he's not so familiar with and therefore needs firm direction from his rider. When schooling he will try to get away with minimum effort as he's pretty laid back and chilled out. However, he can move beautifully and be relaxed and forward if you are firm but sensitive with him. I wouldn't say he's a born jumper so if jumping is your thing you will need to work at it to develop him with this. He's had both my kids and my kids' novice friends on him and I am happy to have my 11 year old daughter hack him out around the open fields with me walking/running beside. I am looking for someone who would like to ride my 14HH pony twice a week. He is 22 years old but don't be put off by that as he has lots of energy. He is stabled and kept in Pinkneys Green in Maidenhead. He is lovely to hack and can be ridden in the school but he prefers hacking. He would suit an older rider who just wants something completely safe and reliable to enjoy twice a week or he would suit a younger rider with an experienced mum who wants a pony that has been there and done that and is a little school master.
